Facial Surgery
Eye Bag Removal
Some patients have an unsightly excess of skin, and sometimes fat, in the upper and/or lower eyelids, giving them a general look of being tired. With Blepharoplasty, this is relatively easy to correct. The scars are practically invisible, hidden within the natural folds of the skin. The surgery can be performed under local anaesthesia with slight sedation or general anaesthesia and the eyelids of the patient will look refreshed and less heavy.
In the areas treated it is possible to observe some swelling and bruising, but this situation improves greatly in the first week after surgery. Blepharoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that gives a very high level of satisfaction to patients and provides very natural final results.
Face and Neck Lifts
With a Facelift, it is possible to rejuvenate the appearance of the face and neck, that has been lost over the years, as well as tightening the muscles beneath the skin. The objective is to give a more youthful appearance without looking false or overdone. The surgery is usually performed under general anaesthesia and takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, during which time the surgeon removes the excess skin, at the same time performing a tightening of the muscles, which will give a longer lasting result.
It is possible to experience some bruising and swelling, but this generally disappears in the following 2 weeks. The scars are usually of very good quality and well hidden within the fold of the ear or the hairline. Often Facelift surgery is performed in conjunction with Blepharoplasty (eyelid) surgery, and where necessary, can be performed with a brow lift or liposuction for those patients who have a double chin. Following surgery, the patient will need to wear a surgical dressing which is normally removed after 24 hours. Thereafter, patients are required to wear a lycra headband that supports the treated area for two weeks. Patients are usually able to resume a normal social life within 3 to 4 weeks.
Otoplasty
Ear surgery is performed in order to correct prominent ears and/or asymmetry. It is usually performed under local anaesthesia with sedation and after a few hours the patient can be discharged.
In most cases Otoplasty is performed through an incision at the back of the ears, so that the resulting scars are practically invisible. The duration of the operation is about 90 minutes. The stitches are removed 10 days after surgery.
The aim is to achieve more symmetry and to give as natural a result as possible and in most cases the results are excellent.
